Karate gis come in two main styles: kata gis and kumite gis. Kumite gis have full-length sleeves and pant cuffs, and are made with a soft, flexible fabric that's comfortable and easy to move in. If you're just practicing karate recreationally, you'll most likely only need a standard kumite gi. Interestingly, most Karate kata can be adapted to be used with the sai. Kama. The Kama is a Japanese and Okinawan weapon that's basically a stick with a razor-sharp blade attached perpendicularly to its end. Origin Before being used as a weapon, the kama was extensively used as sickle throughout Asia. The Kama was most probably imported from Kata is often described as a set sequence of karate moves organized into a pre-arranged fight against imaginary opponents. The kata consists of kicks, punches, sweeps, strikes, blocks, and throws. Body movement in various kata includes stepping, twisting, turning, dropping to the ground, and jumping.

Kata is a Japanese word that translates to "form" or "pattern". In Karate, it refers to a sequence of movements that simulate a combat situation. These predefined sequences are practiced repeatedly to develop muscle memory, enhance technique, and promote focus and concentration.

Karate Kata Rules. Kata competition is a whole different idea than Kumite. Instead of displaying skill against a moving opponent, katas are more demonstration-style. However, as the WKF rules make clear, kata is not a theatrical presentation, the performance must show an adherence to the mindset and traditional values of karate.
If you consider katas useless and karate usless then you must not be that good. People train in karate for generations but if your training a watered down karate that has no roots then it really doesnt matter because you learned garbage. You train katas over and over for repetition of blocks and strikes and moves that you can use in a real fight.
